AlUla, Saudi Arabia – Rashad Iskandrni

The Chedi Hegra has announced the opening of Nasim Hegra, a new culinary destination inspired by AlUla’s breathtaking natural landscapes, rich heritage, and distinctive cultural identity. Named after the Arabic word for a gentle breeze, Nasim Hegra introduces a contemporary interpretation of Levantine cuisine, adding a unique dining experience to AlUla’s growing hospitality and culinary scene.

Surrounded by dramatic sandstone formations, Nasim Hegra offers a variety of dining and social spaces, each with its own distinctive atmosphere. On the terrace, guests can enjoy a seasonal à la carte menu while relaxing in low-seated lounges overlooking Hegra, where the sandstone landscape transforms in color as daylight fades into evening.

Indoors, private dining rooms provide an intimate setting for carefully curated culinary experiences, while the rooftop transforms after sunset into an inviting space for light bites beneath the stars. The experience is complemented by a sophisticated selection of premium non-alcoholic beverages, creative mocktails, specialty coffees, and fine teas.

The Chedi Hegra is located within Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the only hotel situated in the heart of this remarkable archaeological destination. The property occupies a collection of carefully restored stone buildings that once formed part of AlUla’s historic railway station.

Nasim Hegra is housed within Hegra Fort, an 18th-century structure located within the hotel grounds. With its preserved stone walls and beautifully restored arched entrances, the historic fort provides an extraordinary architectural backdrop for the restaurant’s dining experience, seamlessly blending heritage with contemporary hospitality.

Under the direction of Executive Chef Rashid Ahmadzadeh, who brings more than 16 years of international culinary experience, Nasim Hegra presents a modern interpretation of Levantine gastronomy. The restaurant celebrates traditional flavors while introducing innovative techniques, creative presentations, and a strong commitment to ingredient quality, provenance, and seasonality.

The menu features a selection of signature dishes, including Bluefin Tuna Nayeh, Wagyu Liver Skewers with Foie Gras, Milk-Fed Lamb Shoulder, and Milk Bastilla.

Each dish combines seasonal local produce and the region’s distinctive spices with carefully selected premium ingredients sourced from leading international producers, creating a refined culinary journey that celebrates flavor, craftsmanship, and authenticity.

Nasim Hegra’s beverage program offers a contemporary exploration of regional flavors through inventive creations that balance tradition and innovation. Signature offerings include Liquid Tabbouleh, Desert Rose, and Kunafa Cream Cooler.

The restaurant’s concept has been developed by NOKO Studio, a hospitality specialist focused on restaurant concept creation, development, and operations. NOKO Studio will also oversee the management and operation of Nasim Hegra, including its culinary direction and service standards, ensuring a cohesive hospitality experience that reflects the restaurant’s identity and vision.

As the day unfolds, Nasim Hegra reveals different moods across its distinctive spaces. The terrace offers a peaceful retreat during the afternoon, while the indoor dining areas come alive in the evening with music, conversation, and a vibrant social atmosphere. On the rooftop, soft lantern lighting creates an enchanting setting beneath AlUla’s star-filled skies.

Welcoming hotel guests, visitors to AlUla, and members of the local community, Nasim Hegra is set to become a distinctive destination for social gatherings and memorable dining experiences. By bringing together contemporary Levantine cuisine, thoughtfully designed spaces, and the timeless beauty of Hegra, the restaurant celebrates the spirit of AlUla and its extraordinary historical legacy.

Nasim Hegra is open daily from 3:00 PM until midnight.
