# Disty Holdings Is Reimagining Procurement with AI
Rashad Iskandrni
Saudi Arabia is entering a new era of
intelligent commerce, and procurement is next.
For decades, procurement has relied on
fragmented systems, manual supplier discovery, disconnected data, and multiple
steps to reach a purchasing decision.
Disty Holdings is building a different model,
one designed from the ground up around artificial intelligence.
Rather than adding AI to a traditional
procurement process, Disty is building AI into the core of how organizations
understand demand, discover products and suppliers, evaluate options, and make
purchasing decisions.
At the center of this model is AI that
understands what an organization needs, not simply what it searches for.
It interprets requirements, matches demand
with supply, evaluates alternatives, and connects each need with the most
relevant options across a broad network of products and suppliers.
And this model is not being built in
isolation from the market.
Disty has already generated more than *SAR 1
billion in sales volume in approximately two years, fulfilled more than
**100,000 orders, built access to more than **1,000 local and international
brands, and expanded its product universe to more than **1 million products*
sourced locally and internationally.
That scale represents more than commercial
traction. It creates a real operating foundation of purchasing behavior,
demand, supply, supplier relationships, and market data that AI can build upon.
Industry estimates suggest that advanced AI
can improve procurement-function efficiency by *25% to 40%*, highlighting the
scale of the opportunity to rethink how procurement operates.
Ahmed Abu Alasal, Founder & CEO of Disty
Holdings, said:
*“We believe the biggest opportunity for AI
is not in automating individual tasks, but in redesigning how businesses
operate from the ground up. Procurement is one of the clearest opportunities to
do that. We are building Disty Holdings to make procurement radically more
intelligent, connected, and efficient.”*
This vision comes as Saudi Arabia continues
to accelerate its digital transformation under Vision 2030, creating the
conditions for a new generation of technology companies to reshape major
sectors at scale.
For Disty Holdings, the ambition is not to
add AI to procurement.
*It is to build a procurement model that was
designed for AI from day one.*
