Hail, Saudi Arabia, 16 December 2025: Nissan Saudi
Arabia has officially concluded the inaugural 2025 Nissan Tat’ees
Championship with its final round in Hail, drawing an impressive audience and
strong participation from drivers and desert sports enthusiasts across the
Kingdom. As the championship concludes, Nissan reaffirms its role as a leading
partner in elevating major sporting events and advancing the growth of desert
motorsports in Saudi Arabia.
As the first professional championship of its kind in the
Kingdom for sand-driving enthusiasts, Nissan successfully transformed the sport
of Tat’ees into a structured and secure competitive platform that blends power,
speed, and precision across challenging sand courses. The championship
introduced an advanced organizational model that prioritizes safety while
providing drivers with a high-quality environment to demonstrate their skills
at a professional level.
The championship unfolded across three main rounds, beginning in Dammam, continuing in Jeddah, and culminating in Hail for the third round, followed by the final showdown that brought together the top performers and category qualifiers from previous stages. Throughout the season, drivers demonstrated exceptional skill and consistency, reflecting their readiness and evolving ability to navigate some of the Kingdom’s most demanding desert terrains. At the close of the final round, Mohammed Al-Ghunaim claimed first place overall, followed by Saadoun Dhabib Khalaf Al-Shammari in second and Sufyan Abdulaziz Al-Omar in third, delivering standout performances that reflected their technical precision and professionalism.

The inaugural season was also distinguished by its
open-competition format, which welcomed both professional and amateur drivers
and highlighted a new generation of promising Saudi talent across all
categories. The participation of women added further significance to the event
reflected Nissan’s commitment to broadening access to motorsports and
supporting the empowerment of women within the Kingdom’s automotive and
sporting sectors.
Following the conclusion of the championship, Adib
Takieddine, Managing Director of Nissan Saudi Arabia, commented: “This
championship represents an important milestone in supporting off-road and
desert motorsports in the Kingdom. We are pleased to recognize the support of
the Hail Region Emirate, which played a key pivotal role in the successful
organization of the final round.”
He added: “At Nissan, we believe that adventure sports
resonate deeply with the ambitions of Saudi youth, and we recognize their role
in building skills and fostering a spirit of determination. Our support for
this championship aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and reflects our
continued commitment to empowering communities and enabling talent across every
region of the Kingdom.”
As part of its commitment to enhancing the championship’s
organizational framework, Nissan worked closely with the Saudi Automobile &
Motorcycle Federation and local partners to elevate technical inspection
standards, reinforce safety protocols, and design race courses that meet
stringent regulatory criteria. The Nissan Patrol PRO-4X was designated as the
official safety car, selected for its exceptional capability in handling
challenging sand terrain and steep desert inclines.
Nissan’s sponsorship of the championship reflects its vision
to advance desert sports in the Kingdom, in line with the ambitions of Saudi
youth and national goals to develop the sports sector, boost domestic tourism,
and nurture emerging talent. The season also underscores Nissan’s seven-decade
relationship with the Saudi community, offering an engaging experience that
brought together drivers and fans while strengthening a culture of skillful
driving and fostering a spirit of challenge within a safe and professionally
managed environment.
