Celebrating Saudi Arabia’s thriving specialty coffee culture, the Marrakech-born

coffee house brings its 100% Arabica specialty coffee experience to Riyadh,

continuing its global expansion across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, February 2026 - Bacha Coffee, the historic Moroccan coffee house founded in 1910 in Marrakech, announces the opening of its first flagship in Saudi Arabia at Solitaire Mall, Riyadh. The launch marks a significant milestone in the brand’s international growth, following its recent debuts in Japan in December 2025 and China in January 2026, and brings one of the world’s largest collections of 100% Arabica specialty coffees to discerning Saudi consumers.

Saudi Arabia is today one of the world’s fastest-growing coffee economies. Consumption reaches an estimated 36 million cups daily, supporting a market valued at US$1.3–1.9 billion. The sector is projected to expand from US$1.64 billion in 2024

to around US$2.58 billion by 2030, reflecting a robust CAGR of approximately 7.8% and positioning the Kingdom as a global anchor for specialty coffee brands.

“Saudi Arabia is home to one of the most discerning and forward-thinking coffee cultures today,” said Taha Bouqdib, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bacha Coffee. “There is a deep appreciation for quality, rarity and craftsmanship. These values have defined Bacha Coffee for more than a century, making Riyadh a natural and meaningful home for us.”

Saudi Arabia: A Booming Market for Specialty Coffee

Inspired by the splendour of Marrakech’s Dar el Bacha, the Riyadh flagship reinterprets Moroccan artistry through a contemporary Saudi lens. Guests can explore more than 200 rare and exceptional 100% Arabica specialty coffees, sourced

from 35 countries and roasted in small batches in Marrakech.

Spanning 244 square metres with seating for 50, the flagship offers a complete Bacha Coffee experience, encompassing a Coffee Room, Boutique and Takeaway concept. Every detail, from handcrafted brass fixtures to zellige-inspired tiling, reflects a

dialogue between Moroccan heritage and Saudi traditions of hospitality and ritual.

While the tradition of serving Arabic coffee qahwa remains central to hospitality in homes and social gatherings, specialty coffee has surged in popularity across the Kingdom. Driven by younger consumers, rising cultural tourism and an increasing focus on artisanal craft, Saudi Arabia has seen rapid growth in specialty cafés, cold brew offerings and “third-space” social concepts. Across the GCC, provenance-driven and artisanal coffee experiences continue to gain momentum as consumer tastes evolve.

Crafting Specialty Coffee at Scale

Every cup served in Riyadh begins its journey at Bacha Coffee’s roasting facility in Marrakech, where beans sourced from 35 of the world’s leading coffee-producing countries are roasted in small batches and hand-packed. The brand prioritises provenance, precise roasting and the preservation of flavour complexity, reflecting its 115-year artisanal heritage.

Bacha Coffee maintains one of the world’s largest repertoires of single-origin 100% Arabica specialty coffees, supported by a roasting programme that carefully prepares approximately 2,000 tonnes of coffee annually, alongside a culinary atelier that produces an average of 10 million croissants each year worldwide. Together, these reflects the Maison’s ability to honour heritage

craftsmanship while operating at a global scale.

“We have always believed that heritage can be aspirational,” Bouqdib noted. “Bacha Coffee is not simply a Moroccan brand, but a world of hospitality and imagination. People want to taste craftsmanship, and they want to feel transported.”

Expansion in Global Capitals

The Riyadh opening builds on a period of accelerated international growth for Bacha Coffee. In Europe, the brand’s flagship on the Champs-Élysées in Paris has become a landmark destination. In Asia, Bacha Coffee recently opened in Tokyo’s Ginza

district in December 2024, followed by its debut in China in January 2025.

Since beginning its international expansion from Singapore, Bacha Coffee has grown across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with locations in Paris, Dubai, Seoul, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Kuwait and Qatar. The GCC continues to rank among the brand’s fastest-growing regions, with rare harvest coffees accounting for a substantial proportion of regional sales, alongside strong year-on-year growth across the GCC, Europe and Asia, a testament to rising global demand for refined, heritage-led

coffee experiences.

The Riyadh flagship builds on this global momentum, bringing Bacha Coffee’s Marrakech-born specialty coffee experience and artisanal craftsmanship to Saudi consumers who have long been part of its international story.

Flagship Experience: Driving Engagement and Growth

Across all markets, Bacha Coffee designs spaces that encourage guests to slow down and enjoy the ritual of a well-prepared cup. The new Riyadh flagship offers a refined environment where every detail is designed to inspire connection and appreciation,

reflecting both Moroccan heritage and the vibrancy of Saudi coffee culture.

“Whether in Riyadh, Paris, or Tokyo, our philosophy remains consistent,” Bouqdib said. “We invite guests to pause, savour the moment, and experience the world through coffee.”
