iCAUR steals the spotlight at Riyadh’s EV Auto Show with Middle East debut of the V27 REEV SUV

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia October 29, 2025: The EV Auto Show returned to
the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC) for its 4th
edition from October 27–29, 2025, bringing together the region’s fast growing
EV community. Among the most talked about exhibitors was iCAUR, the
international brand of Chery Automobile, which drew crowds with the Middle East
debut of the BOXY, adventure ready V27 powered by range extended electric
(REEV) technology.
iCAUR displayed the V27 with REEV technology in the Kingdom
for the first time ever, in the presence of Vice President Mr. Mark, Country
Head George, and Head of Brand & Marketing Muhammad Daniyal Khan. Vice
President Mr. Mark was onsite throughout the show and also appeared as a
speaker, underscoring iCAUR’s commitment to the Saudi market and the role of
REEV in delivering long-range, real-world practicality aligned with Vision
2030. The Minister of Investment Funds of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Sheikh Waleed, Chairman
of Saudi Investment Group, also visited the iCAUR booth during the event,
further highlighting the growing interest and governmental support for
innovative EV technologies.
iCAUR is Chery’s dedicated new energy brand focused on
youthful, outdoors oriented SUVs with smart electrification. The line is
positioned to deliver rugged design with the practicality and efficiency
demanded by daily commuters and weekend explorers alike.
The V27 uses a range extended electric system in which
electric motors drive the wheels at all times, while a compact 1.5-liter petrol
engine works only as a generator to charge the battery on the move. Owners can
plug in at home or public chargers for daily electric driving and refuel the
petrol tank for long trips, ideal for the Kingdom’s mix of urban routes and
cross-country journeys. Independent coverage cites RWD/AWD variants, output up
to ~335 kW (≈449 hp), and a pure EV (battery-only) driving range of about 200
km (CLTC). Combined battery + generator total range is commonly reported at
over 1,000 km on CLTC-type cycles (real-world ranges vary by climate, speed,
and load).
At RICEC, visitors gravitated to the V27’s upright, *box-shaped SUV stance* and
premium cabin, highlighting how its long-range REEV setup suits Saudi intercity
driving and desert weekenders, calling it “out of this world,” “exactly the
look we want,” and “the EV we actually need here.” Regional show organizers and
local press report record EV-show footfall for 2025, an audience primed for
practical electrification, amplifying interest at the iCAUR stand. Outlets have
likewise praised the V27’s *tough, Defender/Land Cruiser evoking design* and
market focus under the iCAUR name, noting that the look “actually works” and
plays directly to global 4×4 tastes.
With the EV Auto Show spotlighting nationwide momentum for
electrified mobility, iCAUR’s V27 arrives as local interest accelerates and
infrastructure expands. The brand is preparing phased regional launches
following its summer/fall global reveals. (Regional launch windows, trims, and
pricing for KSA will be announced separately.)
Why REEV matters for the Kingdom. Compared with parallel
hybrids, where the engine can also drive the wheels, REEV keeps the driving
experience purely electric (instant torque, smoothness) while using petrol only
to generate electricity when needed. The result is EV performance with
long-distance flexibility, minimizing range anxiety for desert trips, family
road journeys, and intercity business travel.
