Kudu Supports Coffee Farmers in Jazan with a Sustainable Initiative, the First of Its Kind in the Private Sector
Rashad Iskandrni
April 2026: As part of its commitment to social responsibility and strengthening environmental sustainability, Kudu Company for Food and Catering, a leading player in the quick-service restaurant sector, announced the launch of a partnership initiative aimed at supporting and empowering local farmers in the Jazan region, enhancing the sustainability of agricultural production, and developing local supply chains.
This
initiative, implemented by Kudu in collaboration with the Environment Fund as a
strategic partner, reflects a strong direction toward promoting environmental
sustainability while showcasing real success stories of local farmers. It
highlights the positive impact of these efforts on developing the environmental
sector and supporting local communities.
Commenting
on the initiative, Chairman of Kudu Company for Food and Catering, Mr. Rakan
Al-Rashed, said:
“The farmers support initiative we launched in Jazan aligns with Saudi Arabia’s
Vision 2030, led by His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed
bin Salman. This vision is driving a transformative shift that supports private
sector growth and opens new opportunities for partnerships and expansion.”
Mr.
Al-Rashed added:
“This initiative was introduced to support local farmers, alongside our
collaboration with the Environment Fund to enhance environmental sustainability
and resource efficiency. It also aligns with our ongoing efforts to implement
sustainable operational practices, including the use of solar energy in our
factories and warehouses across the Kingdom. In addition, we are moving toward
reusable and environmentally friendly packaging solutions, reflecting our
commitment to both our environment and our community.”
He
concluded:
“We are proud to be a Saudi brand contributing to strengthening the local
economy, with approximately 81% of our procurement sourced from local suppliers
across the Kingdom. We also contribute to creating direct and indirect job
opportunities, reinforcing our role as an active economic contributor.”
For
her part, farmer Sara Haneen Al-Malki, one of the initiative’s beneficiaries,
expressed her appreciation to Kudu for supporting her farm. She emphasized that
this support helps beneficiaries overcome challenges, noting that Kudu
contributed to providing practical solutions such as drilling a water well to
supply elevated farming areas—opening new horizons for further initiatives. She
added that her family has long cultivated coffee before returning to it once
again, and stressed that her partnership with Kudu will help sustain her farm
and achieve her goals. She also highlighted that the project goes beyond
practical support to preserving a valuable cultural and historical legacy.
