Pepsi® Welcomes Farah Jefry as Global Ambassador, Highlighting Saudi Arabia’s Growing Impact in Women’s Football
Rashad Iskandrni
Riyadh, April 30 – In a landmark moment for women’s sports in Saudi Arabia, Pepsi® today announced the addition of Farah Jefry — a pioneering Saudi athlete reshaping the future of women’s football — to its new global roster of unstoppable female ambassadors.
Part of Pepsi’s 100 Days of Summer campaign, the
announcement celebrates an exciting summer of football across Saudi Arabia,
England, Spain, and Norway. Jefry’s inclusion marks a proud milestone for Saudi
football, showcasing local talent on the global stage and celebrating the
spirit of a new generation redefining the game.
Jefry’s football journey began at just eight years old at Manarat
Jeddah International School. By 15, she launched her club career with the
Jeddah Eagles (now Al-Ittihad), quickly becoming top scorer in both the 2020-21
Champions Cup and the inaugural Saudi Women’s Premier League. Beyond the pitch,
she made history in 2021 as the first Saudi sportswoman to become an Adidas
ambassador, starring in the Weaved as One campaign celebrating unity
through football and Saudi culture. She continues to inspire through landmark
moments, including Saudi Arabia’s iconic World Cup victory over Argentina.
Speaking on her latest milestone, Jefry said: “Pepsi’s
legacy with football icons is legendary, and I’m still pinching myself. Joining
this incredible roster and being part of its next chapter is a dream come true.
I hope my journey inspires young girls across Saudi Arabia to dream big and
pursue their passion.”
For more than 50 years, Pepsi has been at the heart of
football culture, celebrating the passion of players and fans around the world
through bold partnerships and memorable moments. As women’s football continues
its rapid rise, Pepsi is spotlighting a new generation of trailblazers like Jefry,
who are refreshing the game with their unapologetic challenger spirit.
Joining Jefry on Pepsi’s global roster are two-time Ballon D’Or
Féminin winner Alexia Putellas, England star Lauren James, Norwegian standout
Caroline Graham Hansen, and existing ambassador Leah Williamson — each recognized
for their outstanding contributions on and off the pitch.
The unveiling of Pepsi’s new ambassadors marks the start of
an exciting summer campaign, where Jefry and her fellow stars will bring their
energy, passion, and unstoppable spirit to fans around the world.
Cathy Graham Kidd, Senior Marketing Director at Pepsi, commented:
“Our
new ambassadors have a thirst for more — a drive to push boundaries and inspire
a new generation. Pepsi has always redefined football culture, and now we’re
proudly championing the unstoppable rise of women’s football, bringing billions
closer to the excitement of the game.”
As opportunities for women in sport continue to grow across
Saudi Arabia, Jefry’s story — and her partnership with Pepsi — reflects how far
the game has come, and the possibilities that still await the next generation
of female footballers.
