International Non-Profit Forum Explores Future of Transparency in Philanthropy
Manal Saleh
Riyadh –
The International Non-Profit Sector Forum, organized by the National Center for the Non-Profit Sector (NCNP) and launched today in Riyadh, focused on the future of transparency in philanthropy and the role of modern technology and global governance standards in improving data reliability and strengthening trust between organizations and the public. The discussion brought together three leading international experts.
Ziyad Alsaigh, Executive Vice President, Socioeconomic Development at Takamol Holding, said digital transformation represents a major opportunity for the non-profit sector to improve integration between organizations and enhance the accuracy of data. He stressed the need for unified digital systems that make verification easier, support smaller organizations as well as larger ones, and give all entities the ability to present their work transparently and competitively.
Speaking during a session titled “Building Trust,” he noted that trust is not built by simply complying with standards, but by going beyond them and demonstrating real impact through clear, traceable and verifiable data.
Dr. Burkhard Wilke, Executive and Scientific Director of the German Central Institute for Social Issues, highlighted the importance of developing international standards for transparency, especially in an era of widespread misinformation and the rapid spread of unverified content across digital platforms. He underlined the need for a balanced approach to oversight so that smaller organizations are not overburdened, while still ensuring that reliable data is available for the public to rely on.
“Transparency is a treasure that only reveals its true value in critical moments,” he said, adding that organizations must be prepared in advance with clear standards and robust measurement processes. He explained that his institute develops standards through a participatory process that brings together non-profit umbrella bodies, academics and government institutions, to ensure that the resulting frameworks are meaningful rather than merely procedural.
David Holdsworth, CEO, Charity Commission for England and Wales, said transparency should be viewed as a “free shop window” for smaller organizations to strengthen their visibility and credibility with the public. He pointed out that official charity registers allow anyone, anywhere in the world, to look up organizations and access their information at no cost, providing a fair and accessible way to increase reach and trust.
He added that the digital information age demands a central, reliable source of truth that can counter rumors and give the public the tools to make informed choices. Expanding disclosure requirements, he noted, must be carefully calibrated so the benefits outweigh the regulatory burden. Holdsworth explained that the Commission consults closely with the sector before introducing any new requirements, and works with its counterparts in countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States to strengthen international coordination. He also described the introduction of international accounting standards for the charity sector as an important step toward creating unified global benchmarks.

Tenable Solidifies Commitment to Saudi Vision 2030 with New Legal Entity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Manal Saleh
Tenable (NASDAQ: TENB), the exposure management company, today announced the formal establishment of a new legal entity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This move signals its investment in the region and a commitment to supporting the nation's ambitious digital transformation under Vision 2030.
The new entity will strengthen Tenable’s ability to serve its growing customer base across the Kingdom, expanding local access to its market-leading Tenable One Exposure Management Platform and a direct pathway for deeper collaboration on national cybersecurity initiatives, such as those mandated by the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA).
This news coincides with Tenable Co-CEO Mark Thurmond’s visit to the region, where he will deliver a keynote address at Black Hat Middle East & Africa (MEA) 2025. His keynote will emphasize the critical need for a new cybersecurity discipline: Exposure Management.
Saudi Arabia is undergoing one of the most remarkable national transformations in modern history, with visionary projects like NEOM and the growth of an "AI Zone" with companies like HUMAIN. This pace of innovation, while fueling progress, dramatically expands the digital attack surface and introduces new, complex risks.
Exposure Management unifies siloed security teams, tools and data, providing a comprehensive, single view of cyber risk across the modern attack surface. This unified approach is essential for securing the complex, interconnected digital ecosystems driving Vision 2030, such as the sprawling IoT networks being built for giga-projects like NEOM.
“The ambition and speed of innovation we are witnessing in Saudi Arabia is undeniable, but ambition on this scale brings new challenges. The same digital foundations — AI, cloud, and IoT, that fuel the nation's progress also introduce new opportunities for a rapidly maturing adversary to exploit them,” said David Cummins, Senior VP of EMEA, Tenable. “The traditional playbook is broken. We must move from a fragmented, manual defense to a unified, pre-emptive, and automated system. The establishment of our new entity serves to reinforce Tenable’s commitment to providing our partners in the Kingdom with the exposure management vision and local support essential to securing this incredible transformation and protecting Vision 2030.”
The timing of Tenable’s expansion also addresses the urgent threat posed by the weaponization of AI in cyberattacks. With AI accelerating attack development timelines from weeks to minutes, manual human response is no longer sufficient.
Exposure Management leverages AI to proactively identify, assess, and prioritize the critical few vulnerabilities that actually expose an organization to risk. This turns Tenable’s platform into a system of action that automates remediation steps without human intervention for routine tasks. This capability is crucial for protecting the critical infrastructure that powers the Saudi economy against highly targeted, AI-driven attacks.
The new legal entity will allow Tenable to deepen its partnerships with Saudi organizations, aligning its services with local compliance and data sovereignty requirements, such as the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls.

Incorrect readings warning over some FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors
Manal Saleh
Source: www.diabetes.org.uk
People across the UK who use the
FreeStyle Libre 3 or FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors have been warned that some
sensors are giving incorrect readings showing low glucose levels, which if
undetected may pose a potential health risk for people living with diabetes.
If you use either of these sensors, you’ll
need to see if your sensors are affected. Here's what you need to know.
What do I need to do if my sensor is
affected?
Abbott, the company that makes the
FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, is contacting people who use
these sensors through their app and by email to ask them to check the serial
number of their sensors. You may also be contacted by your diabetes team.
To see if the sensor you’re wearing or an
unused sensor is potentially affected you can visit freestylecheck.com and
select ‘Confirm Sensor Serial Number’, or you can call Abbott’s customer
service team on 0800 170 11 77.
There are different ways to locate the
serial number. If your sensor is still in its package, the serial number can be
found on the bottom of the sensor carton packaging and on the sensor applicator
label. For sensors in use or already used, the serial number can be found in
the FreeStyle Libre 3 reader or app.
How to find the serial number using the
reader:
From the Settings menu select System
Status, then System Info. Multiple Sensor Serial Numbers may be listed. Number
(1) is the one you are currently wearing or have most recently worn.
How to find the serial number using the
FreeStyle Libre 3 app:
From the App Main Menu select About.
Multiple Sensor Serial Numbers may be listed. The one at the top of the list is
the one you are currently wearing or have most recently worn.
How to find the serial number if you’re
using a sensor with a connected insulin delivery device:
If you are using a sensor with a connected
insulin delivery device, please refer to the connected insulin delivery device
user manual on how to locate the sensor serial number. You can find out more
on Abbott’s
FreeStyle Libre FAQs.
What happens next?
Once you have reported an affected serial
number, you will then be asked to provide your contact information so Abbott
can send you a replacement sensor at no extra cost. This applies whether you
get your sensors on prescription or you self-fund them.
If you’re wearing a sensor that has been
affected, you should immediately remove the sensor and dispose of it as you
usually would.
If your sensor is affected, and you do not
have a replacement, you can use the built-in meter in the FreeStyle Libre 3
Reader, or an alternative blood glucose meter, to check your glucose levels
while you await your replacement.
You can continue to use your FreeStyle
Libre 3 or FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors if they are not impacted.
If your sensor is not impacted, but your
sensor readings don’t match your symptoms or expectations (such as symptoms of
low or high blood sugar), then you should test your blood
glucose levels using a blood glucose monitor before making
treatment decisions.

Group-IB Launches Advanced Cyber Fraud Intelligence Platform to Strengthen Saudi Arabia’s Financial and Digital Ecosystems
Cyber
Fraud Intelligence Platform (CFIP)
As Saudi Arabia
continues its digital transformation under Vision 2030, addressing the rising
threat of cyber fraud has become a priority for both businesses and consumers.
Building on Group-IB’s global leadership in anti-fraud technologies, CFIP is a
first-of-its-kind, privacy-focused, real-time fraud prevention platform that
enables Saudi organizations across banking, telecommunications, payments,
online retail, and gaming to collectively collaborate in detecting and blocking
fraudulent activities without exposing sensitive customer information. CFIP is
also a core element of Group-IB’s Cyber & Fraud Fusion approach, which
unifies cyber threat intelligence and fraud prevention.
Powered by
Group-IB’s patented Distributed Tokenization technology, CFIP securely shares
anonymized “risk signals” between organizations to identify and stop fraud in
real time. For Saudi businesses, this means proactively combating issues like
coordinated mule-account networks, phishing scams, and synthetic identities,
which have been rising as payment fraud techniques in the region.
“Financial
crime is one of the most complex and costly challenges of our time, and no
single organization can solve it alone. CFIP reflects our commitment to
tackling digital crime through collaboration – proving that when privacy,
compliance, and shared intelligence come together, the entire financial
ecosystem becomes stronger and more resilient,” said
Dmitry Volkov, CEO of Group-IB.
Fraudsters can
often move funds across multiple banks and jurisdictions within minutes, making
recovery nearly impossible. Unlike traditional fraud detection systems that act
only after fraud happens, CFIP enables Saudi organizations to act in real time by
securely exchanging anonymized data on suspicious activity in milliseconds.
This proactive approach helps detect and prevent fraudulent transfers before
funds are lost.
All customer
data remains fully anonymized and protected during this process, adhering to
strict compliance standards. CFIP’s privacy architecture has been independently
verified by Bureau Veritas, confirming that its design and processing methods
are fully GDPR-compliant. The certificate makes CFIP the first global,
real-time fraud intelligence platform to achieve this level of validation.
In a Central
Asian national deployment, CFIP already identifies 300–400 mule accounts daily
and processes 180,000 checks, projecting $100–300 million in annual savings at
full adoption. With similar levels of collaboration in the Kingdom, CFIP could
significantly reduce digital financial crime in Saudi Arabia’s growing digital
economy.

Zoho announces 41% growth in Saudi, launches Zoho POS

The announcements, aimed at
supporting digital transformation goals laid down in Saudi Vision 2030, were
made on the sidelines of Zoholics Saudi, the company’s annual user conference. According to the Saudi Vision 2030 Report, the size of
Saudi Arabia’s digital economy has reached approximately SAR495 billion in
2024, contributing 15% to the national GDP.
"The achievement of the data
centre certifications and launching localised solutions showcase our continued
investment in the Kingdom, which remains one of our fastest growing
markets," said Hyther Nizam, President, Zoho MEA. "With government's
push towards digital transformation, and organisations modernising their legacy
systems in order to benefit from emerging technologies like AI, Zoho, with its
wide portfolio of products and localisation strategy is uniquely positioned to
support this growth. We continue to invest in the Kingdom to empower businesses
of every size to adopt scalable, future-ready technologies."
Growth Momentum
Zoho previously committed to
investing SAR 500 million in the Kingdom, and opened its data centres in Riyadh
and Jeddah early last year. The company said that Class B certification from CST would enable it to
process public and confidential data from private and government entities
within the Kingdom, in accordance with NCA Cloud Cybersecurity Controls. With
Saudi organisations prioritising data residency and NCA Cloud Cybersecurity
Controls compliance, vendors with CST-classified local data centres have a significant
advantage.
Apart from having local data centres,
one of the key drivers behind Zoho’s growth has been its upmarket momentum as
more and more mid-market and enterprise organisations choose its solutions for
their operations. The company saw 84% y-o-y upmarket growth in 2024, and has
sustained the momentum this year. Some of its enterprise customers include
SiFi, Cruise Saudi, Morni, 9Round. More recently, Zoho has started working with
Al Ahli and AlQadsiah football clubs to help with their digital transformation.
Saudi enterprises are accelerating CX modernisation,
especially across BFSI, sports, and tourism—areas where integrated platforms
are increasingly replacing fragmented legacy systems.
The products driving Zoho's growth
are: Zoho One (unified platform with 55+ apps), Zoho Books (ZATCA-approved VAT and e-invoicing compliant accounting
solution), Zoho Workplace (email and collaboration for enterprises), Zoho CRM
Plus (customer experience platform for sales, marketing and support), and Zoho
Creator (low-code app development platform). The key industries for Zoho
are: BFSI, IT, Retail, Real Estate and Construction, and Manufacturing.
The company has grown its local
partner network by 48% in 2024, in order to work more closely with its Saudi
customers. The company also doubled its workforce, largely hiring locally, in
2024 in order to support its growth in the Kingdom.
"Localisation is not just an
initiative for us—it’s a long-term commitment to the Kingdom,” said Saran B.
Parmasivam, Regional Director, Zoho MEA. “By strengthening Arabic support in
products, increasing local integrations, expanding partner network and hiring
locally for customer-facing roles, we are reinforcing our dedication to serving
Saudi businesses and fuelling our growth in the region. The launch of localised
solutions like Zoho POS, adding AI capabilities in our products, and earning
compliance certifications for our DCs are all steps in this direction.”
Launch of Zoho
POS for Saudi Arabia
Zoho POS
is a VAT-compliant modern POS solution for retail stores to streamline their
day-to-day operations and easily monitor them from one place. The short
implementation time allows stores in Saudi to start using the POS software in
an hour, and the ease of use allows them to train their employees quickly, an
essential requirement for a sector with high employee churn. Saudi Arabia’s retail sector, valued at more than SAR 500
billion in 2024, is rapidly adopting modern POS solutions to support
omnichannel operations and compliance requirements.
Zoho POS comes with a native billing
app, available for Windows, iOS, and Android, that can also be used offline.
During peak hours, cashier can use the mobile POS billing app to parallelly
bill customers and shorten the checkout queue.
Zoho POS has an all-in-one admin
console where businesses can manage operations such as inventory management,
customer details, transaction information, and vendor data. They can also gain
real-time insights to enhance their store performance with the help of powerful
reports on sales, inventory, etc.
Zoho POS integrates with After Ship,
UPS, USPS, and EasyShip for shipping, Shopify and
Zoho Commerce for e-commerce, Zoho Books for accounting, and WhatsApp
and Twilio for customer and vendor communication. The app has Arabic
language support, RTL orientation, and the option to print customer invoices in
Arabic.
AI-powered Zoho
One for Contextual Collaboration
Zoho One's new features offer
unification across three domains: Intelligence (AI), User Experience, and
Integrations. On the Intelligence front, Zoho One is leveraging Zoho's AI
assistant, Zia to aggregate and contextualise data
from multiple platforms, including third-party apps, into a single, actionable
answer. This enables organisations to make faster, more informed decisions,
eliminating data silos and enhancing productivity.
Zoho One's new UX offers a connected,
context-aware user experience with the introduction of Spaces. Relevant
applications are grouped in respective Spaces: Personal (productivity and
collaboration apps), Organisation (Forums, Town Halls etc) and Department (HR,
Marketing, Finance). With the new enhancements, users can add upcoming
meetings, uncompleted tasks, scheduled Cliq messages or emails, and more in
their Action Panel, accessible from any app within Zoho One.
The third pillar of this new version
for Zoho One is Integrations, delivered natively. The platform now offers a
centralised integration panel, allowing admins to view, create, monitor and
configure connections across Zoho and third-party apps. Additionally, given
that workflows cut across apps, Zoho One has also introduced workflow-driven
integrations such as Smart Offboarding, which handles user transitions, device
data, and permissions from one guided flow. It also offers a Administration
console, powered by Zoho Directory, for advanced security features like anomaly detection,
Bring Your Own Keys and comprehensive audit logs.

TECNO Sets New Standard for Middle East Skin Tone Imaging with Groundbreaking Saudi-Led Research
Manal Saleh
Riyadh, Tuesday 2 Dec 2025 - TECNO, the
AI-driven innovative brand today announced the successful completion of a joint
research project with the University of Leeds and Dar Al-Hekma University,
dedicated to overcoming the challenges of accurate skin tone reproduction in
Middle Eastern environments. By developing a localized Saudi skin tone
database, creating a dedicated algorithm, and establishing psychometric
standards for 'authentic' reproduction, the project provides a systemic
solution to a key industry issue. This initiative marks a significant step in
TECNO's "Glocalization" strategy, delivering truly imaging
experiences both inclusive and tailored to regional needs.
Tackling Regional Challenges, Defining a New
Standard in Saudi Arabia
"There exists a common stereotype regarding skin tones in the Saudi region, but our in-depth study revealed a far broader and more diverse spectrum than generally perceived," said Professor Kaida Xiao, Professor in Color and Imaging Science in the School of Design at the University of Leeds. "This very diversity has driven us to deepen our research and strive for more precise and authentic representation of Saudi skin tones in imaging technology."

"Saudi Arabia is a nation rich with a
beautiful spectrum of skin tones. What is remarkable is that TECNO is the first
and only smartphone brand to conduct dedicated research here to truly
understand and celebrate this diversity," Professor Ahmed Nasseraldin,
Assistant Professor at Dar Al-Hekma University. "We are proud to
participate in this ground-breaking initiative, providing local perspectives to
help shape technology that authentically representative of who we are in Saudi
Arabia."
Three Key Research Breakthroughs
·
A Localized Skin Tone Database and Benchmark: The team collected
1,794 authentic skin tone samples within Saudi Arabia, leading to the
development of the industry's first custom multi-tone color card specifically
for the Saudi market. This card provides an unprecedented precise benchmark for
imaging calibration, ensuring localized relevance from the ground up.
·
A Dedicated AWB Algorithm for Saudi Arabia: By systematically
capturing Saudi-specific daylight and artificial light spectra and integrating
the new skin tone database, the team developed a new generation Automatic White
Balance (AWB) algorithm for portrait photography. This technology enables multi-dimensional
refinements based on skin luminance and chrominance, accurately reflecting
subtle variations even within the same ethnic group.
· Defining “Authenticity” Through Scientific Measure: Through rigorous psycho-visual experiments, the project established clear parameters for what Saudi consumers perceive as “real and acceptable” for skin tones. This transforms subjective notions of authenticity into a measurable, industry-applicable standard.

TECNO Universal Tone: A Continuing Commitment to
Authentic Imaging
Universal Tone
technology represents a systematic engineering initiative within TECNO. As the
only player in the industry that engages in deep collaboration with both
international and regional academic institutions, TECNO is committed to
building comprehensive skin tone databases and calibration capabilities. By
mobilizing global R&D resources and establishing dedicated laboratories,
the company has built an integrated, structured framework for skin tone
measurement and reproduction, forming a truly systematic approach to inclusive
imaging.

ManageEngine Showcases Next-Gen Cybersecurity Platform at Black Hat MEA 2025 as Saudi Arabia Accelerates Digital Transformation
Manal Saleh
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – 1 December, 2025: ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corporation and a leading provider of enterprise IT management solutions, today announced its participation at Black Hat Middle East & Africa (MEA) 2025 for the fourth consecutive year, which will be held from December 2 to 4 in Riyadh, showcasing major advancements to its cybersecurity and IT management portfolio. The company’s presence underscores its long-term commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s fast-evolving digital economy and its national ambitions in AI, cloud technologies and cybersecurity.
Supporting a rapidly evolving cyber landscape
With the Kingdom accelerating its adoption of AI, machine learning, and cloud-based platforms, cybercriminals have likewise moved swiftly to exploit new vulnerabilities. Sectors such as BFSI, healthcare, oil and gas and energy continue to experience increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks, many powered by the same AI advances driving digital growth. As per the Pwc study on cyber resilience in 2025, the results of the findings highlight that 73% of organisations in the Middle East view cybersecurity as a strategic asset with 40% of tech leaders having made data protection their top investment priority.
“Cybersecurity is an evolving challenge. As AI, ML and cloud reshape modern technology, strengthening cyber defenses is essential to counter new-age attacks which has essentially increased the attack surface by these advancements. Reducing MTTD and MTTR is now critical for business continuity. Premier cybersecurity events such as BlackHat MEA play a central role in raising cybersecurity awareness in the community by fostering collaboration and guiding organisations toward stronger, unified digital defense strategies,” said Prasanna Venkatesh Srinivasan, Associate Director at ManageEngine.
Saudi Arabia has emerged as ManageEngine’s largest market in the MENA region, driven by consistent year-on-year growth of 30–40% and a 35% increase in customer adoption since 2020. These gains coincide with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 push for digital transformation, advanced cloud deployment and local data-residency frameworks.
With over two decades of experience in the MENA region, ManageEngine continues to strengthen its presence in the Kingdom through investments in research and development, the expansion of local operations and fully functional data centers in Riyadh and Jeddah, ensuring compliance with SDAIA and NCA requirements. The company also supports Saudi Arabia’s talent-development goals by working closely with its extensive channel-partner network, delivering year-round workshops, training sessions and knowledge-transfer programs across multiple cities.
“Saudi Arabia is moving at an unprecedented pace in digital transformation, and cybersecurity sits at the heart of this progress. At ManageEngine, we are committed to supporting the Kingdom with advanced, unified security solutions that match the scale of its ambitions and ensure organizations remain resilient in a rapidly evolving threat landscape”, added Srinivasan.
Showcasing advanced cybersecurity platforms (Hall 1, Booth T30)
At Black Hat MEA 2025, ManageEngine will showcase significant enhancements to its enterprise cybersecurity suite. These include a major transformation of Log360 - company's security information and event management (SIEM) solution, which has evolved into a full-fledged security analytics platform powered by an advanced threat detection approach capable of cutting through alert fatigue and reducing false positives. Meanwhile, AD360, the company’s converged identity and access management (IAM) platform, now features more than 100 prebuilt integrations alongside new identity risk exposure management and local user MFA capabilities that address common identity attack vectors. Additional upgrades span across IT niches such as unified endpoint management, privileged access control and AI-driven analytics, all designed to help modern organizations secure increasingly complex, hybrid IT environments.
In the Kingdom, Saudi organizations continue to face three primary challenges: the rise of AI-enabled ransomware and phishing attacks, the rapid expansion of cloud environments that introduce additional attack surfaces, and an acute cybersecurity talent gap intensified by evolving regulations and compliance requirements. ManageEngine’s unified security architecture, spanning SIEM, IAM, UEMS, PAM and advanced analytics, is designed to help organizations consolidate visibility, shorten incident response times and strengthen digital resilience.
